Red flags are flying high along the beaches in Baldwin County, but some people are ignoring the warning. Gulf Shores and Orange Beach both advise beach visitors to stay out of the water this weekend. Waves are high and the currents are extremely strong. Gulf State Park Pier employees tell us the beaches are packed today. Crews have been busy getting people to come out of the water. WKRG is told many swimmers are wading into ankle deep water, but others are putting themselves at risk by swimming deeper into the Gulf of Mexico.
The WKRG live beach camera in Orange Beach shows 3 to 4 feet waves crashing into the shoreline around 1:00 P.M. on Saturday.
