MUST SEE: Lightning Strikes Florida Beach

A man in Daytona Beach, Florida shows just how dangerous and beautiful lightning can be at the beach. Clint Blevins captured amazing video of lightning striking the surf.As you can see in the video, it doesn’t appear anyone was in the water Wednesday when the stormed moved into the area. On Tuesday, an 11-year-old boy was struck by lightning in Daytona Beach. The boy and his father were fishing in the water when the lightning hit. The boy was knocked unconscious, He had red splotches all over his head and the right side of his body. Law enforcement credit good samaritans with jumping into action and helping the boy.

 

This video shows the power of lightning. A strike can contain up to one billion volts of electricity. Here’s a little perspective. A car only needs 12 volts of electricity to run.
