Improving Relations Between Police And The Public

Shining Star Camp
The Baldwin Co. Sheriff's Office Shining Star camp is just one tool the department uses to develop stronger relationships with the community.

Developing and improving public trust between police and the public is important.

That trust has been shattered in some communities following several, high profile and deadly confrontations between the public and police.

Baldwin County Sheriff Hoss Mack says police are dealing with disrespect, non-compliance and “dangerous” situations now more than ever before.

The sheriff’s office is holding its annual, Shining Star Camp this week. The camp is more than just fun and games, it’s just one of many tools designed to build stronger relationships between law enforcement and the community.
