One of the doctors arrested in a regional raid of prescription painkiller facilities across the south has plead not guilty.
Dr. Xiulu Ruan entered the not guilty plea on Thursday. He’s charged with conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance and conspiracy of health care fraud.
Jury selection for Dr. Ruan’s trial will begin on August 3, while the trial itself is scheduled for August 5.
Dr. Ruan is wearing an electronic monitoring device that will be removed, News 5 is told.
Dr. Couch, a colleague of Dr. Ruan, has already pleaded not guilty as well.
